At PWN Global we are committed to create significant, positive impact on gender-balanced leadership at Board-level. The Global Women on Boards programme aims to unite PWN members worldwide who are either established or aspiring Non-Executive Directors. The programme revolves around three key pillars: Prepare, Learn, and Connect, designed to support a successful board career.

PWN Global proudly announces the launch of its groundbreaking Women On Board Programme, designed to champion gender diversity and elevate women's leadership in boardrooms across industries. Rooted in the values of empowerment, collaboration, and community, this initiative marks a significant milestone in PWN's commitment to fostering inclusive environments where women thrive and excel.  

At the heart of PWN's mission lies the belief that every woman deserves a seat at the table, and the Women On Boards Programme embodies this ethos wholeheartedly. By providing a platform for aspiring female leaders to connect, learn, and grow, PWN is paving the way for a future where boardrooms reflect the diverse perspectives and experiences of society at large.  

One of the distinguishing features of the Women On Boards Programme is the unparalleled support and resources it offers to its members. From mentorship opportunities with seasoned executives to access to exclusive networking events and educational workshops, participants can expect a comprehensive suite of tools to enhance their skills as professional board member. 

This programme targets executives already who : 

  • are or want to become board directors,
  • are looking to increase their board skills,
  • want to be part of a community of pairs.

The programme is open to only PWN members and the annual cost is 500€.

Date: 28th April, 2024
Topic: Roles and responsibilities as a NED & remuneration models 
Description: A non-executive director is not involved in the day-to-day operations of the company, but provides independent oversight, advice, and guidance to the executive directors and the senior management team. This session will give insights into the non-executive director’s pivotal role in overseeing and delivering value to shareholders, considering the interests of all stakeholders, and upholding the highest standards of corporate governance.

Topic: Define your board competences   
Description: This session focuses on transitioning your executive skills into those suitable for a board role. Our dedicated speaker will delve into the diverse competencies essential for an impactful board. Gain clarity on defining your board-specific skills and understanding which board roles align best with your strengths. 

Date: July, 2024
Topic: How to market yourself and the role of SoMe 
Description: This session is an introduction to marketing yourself for a NED role and what role SoMe plays. You can build your brand principally on LinkedIn, but you also need to be aware of, and use, other SoMe. At the very least, you should review your posts and images to avoid giving any mixed messages, even selecting your “friends”, likes and comments. 

To make the most of LinkedIn, you need to market yourself effectively. It is not a one-time event, but a continuous process that requires strategy, creativity, and consistency. This means creating a profile that showcases your skills, achievements, and personality, and that attracts more opportunities, and advance your career.

Topic: Build your board CV   
Description: Creating a board CV is a nuanced endeavour. Your resume and online presence serve as initial touchpoints with potential board contacts, so it's essential they're current and showcase your relevant accomplishments and capabilities. 

This session emphasizes the importance of making a favourable initial impression through your CV.

Topic: How did you land your first NED position?
Description: Becoming a non executive director (NED) can be a rewarding and challenging career move. NEDs provide independent oversight and strategic guidance to the executive management of an organization. They also bring valuable skills, experience, and networks to the boardroom. 

However, landing your first NED role can be difficult, especially if you don't have prior board experience. 

In this session, we will have a showcase with a real-life story, the faced challenges and how to be prepared and overcome those challenges. 

Date: November, 2024 
Topic: Make your elevator pitch 
Description: Your elevator pitch serves as your market value statement, crystallizing your goals and vision and articulating them effectively to others. It proves invaluable in various scenarios like networking events, sales meetings, and social media engagements. While not a universal fix, an elevator pitch is a versatile tool, adaptable to different contexts and individuals. 

This session equips you with the tools to be clear, concise, and compelling, and to leave a positive and memorable impression on your listener. 

There will also be two other connecting sessions that cover the topics of:

  • How to network for a board position, and
  • Learn from head-hunters
